Dr Edd Knowles
Department: Clinical Science and Services
Research Groups: Musculoskeletal Biology
Clinical Groups: Equine Medicine
Edd is a post-doctoral researcher in neuromuscular disease, currently studying Atypical Myopathy in horses.
Edd graduated in 2005. After 18 months in small animal practice, moved to an equine private practice as a hosptial intern. He has remained in equine private practice whilst undertaking specialist training, a PhD and now post-doctoral research at the RVC. Edd obtained the diploma of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in 2014 and is an RCVS recognised specialist in Equine Internal Medicine. Edd has broad research interests. He completed his PhD in 2021 focussed on equine endocrine disease and the prediction of laminitis. His post doctoral research focus is on Atypical Myopathy (hypoglycin A toxicity) in horses.
