I am an Anaesthesia Nurse in the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals

Elle graduated in 2008 from the University of Bristol with a BSc honours degree in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Administration. She moved to the Midlands where and worked in a mixed practice for 2 years before returning to the University of Bristol as Senior ICU nurse. She spent 4 years back at Bristol and gained the VTS(ECC) qualification in 2012. In 2013 she moved to London and joined the Royal Veterinary College Emergency and Critical Care team and worked as both senior and head ECC Nurse. In 2019 she completed a PGCert in Veterinary Education and became a member of the FHEA. In 2020 she stepped down as head nurse and back into the team to regain a focus on clinical work and mentoring the students on clinical rotations. In 2023 she joined the anaesthesia team to develop a new knowledge and skill set. She has lectured internationally, written numerous articles and also contributed to book chapters. She is on the editorial committee for The Veterinary Nurse in addition to volunteering for EVECCS and WSAVA.

Publications under review:

Elle teaches and mentors both BVSc and SVN students whilst on clinical rotations in the QMHA. Elle teaches veterinary nurses around the world a range of ECC and anaesthesia related topics at conferences, on VN certificates, through face to face and online courses. Elle joined the WSAVA education committee as a volunteer in 2025.

Elle has worked in the QMHA since 2013 in a range of positions within the ECC and Anaesthesia teams.
