I joined the Finance team at RVC in June 2010. As the Head of Procurement, I am responsible for coordinating the strategic procurement activities at the RVC in order to ensure that “Value for Money” (“VfM”) principles are adopted for revenue and capital expenditure throughout its operations. My duties are varied and wide-ranging and include the following major activities:

• The provision of advice, support and coordination of high value, strategic procurementrelated activities in particular in relation to new tenders and contracts.
• The provision of advice, support and assistance with regards to procurement best practice in order to try and ensure compliancy with EU procurement legislation.
• The development and strengthening of strategic relationships with public sector consortiums, buying groups and key suppliers in order to drive “VfM”, where possible.
• To assist departmental stakeholders responsible for managing key high value supplier contracts to negotiate contract prices and terms, where appropriate.
