Course Design and Development
Blended learning Rubric - The RVC Blended Learning Rubric is an externally benchmarked framework for developing and incorporating blended learning into modules or strands.
Six quality standards define baseline and enhancement actions to guide staff to design their teaching activities. These standards align with the RVC’s Blended Learning Strategy. The interactive rubric on LEARN links to other resources and is intended to be used as part of continuous improvement of teaching materials
ABC Design workshops; A number of resources have been created to help staff become familiar with the ABC Design Principles including:

For staff – Don't forget the New Student Induction Tutor Guide for more details.
Student Voice
The student voice is key to shaping our educational offering at the RVC. We do this in a variety of different ways.
James Bee Student-led educator awards
The James Bee student-led Educator Awards for teaching and support staff are an important way for the student voice to be heard. The awards recognise RVC staff who excel in providing an excellent student learning experience whether in the classroom or in a support role.
The awards are very meaningful to staff and are a wonderful way for students to show their appreciation. After students have made their nominations a panel confirms the prizes. Winners of the awards are kept secret until the graduation ceremony. Many recipients of the prizes are surprised and delighted when their name is called out.
Find out more about the categories for nomination here.
Nominations open in the spring of each year, and close in June.
Digital Learning Champions
The Educational Development and Digital Learning teams work with course teams to integrate technology enhanced learning (TEL) into the curriculum to provide engaging digital learning experiences.
Our student Digital Learning Champions are a key part of this. They work with students and staff to support the development of digital skills and to make course materials inclusive and accessible. This year they are launching Digital Skills journeys for each course.
Need to brush up on using OneNote? Or other Digital tools? Looking at how you can keep your laptop in tip-top shape? The Digital Learning Champions can help. Check out the Digital Bytes sessions
