Science for the Planet
As a pioneer of the One Health approach, the Royal Veterinary College is forging important partnerships with leaders in human medicine and the social sciences. Our science is addressing some of the most important global challenges affecting the livelihoods of some of the poorest communities worldwide.
To enable this journey of discovery, we are developing facilities that inspire and promote collaboration between our scientists, clinicians and external partners, empowering our students to become the One Health leaders of the future, equipped to tackle the global challenges faced by society.
Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership awarded the RVC a £7m grant to build this leading One Health Vaccine and Stem Cell research centre. Read more...
The £45 million development of the Hawkshead Campus is already underway and will bring together the research, educational and clinical aspects of our endeavours. Download our brochure to find out more...
Supporting us
You can be part of the RVC’s future
The Science for the Planet Campaign is aiming to raise £5million towards the costs of the new facilities at the RVC’s Hawkshead Campus. We were delighted to receive £1.25million from the Wolfson Foundation and £500,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation as well as major donations from other Trusts and major donors.
We now need the help of our RVC Alumni community
At the heart of the new facilities will be a beautiful Atrium featuring the skeleton of Eclipse and a number of the RVC’s precious artworks. In addition to this will be a newly commissioned installation to thank those who have supported the Science for the Planet Campaign. Our ambitions are bold, and our beautiful new Donor Wall will celebrate all those who have enabled the RVC to get to this point and support the RVC into the future and our role at the forefront of the One Health approach. If you would like your name to feature in this installation and be part of the RVC for decades to come, we are asking for donations of just £20 per month for two years or a single donation of £500.
UPDATE: Thanks to the amazing response from our Alumni community, we now only have one place remaining on our beautiful Donor Wall. So please get in touch today to secure this place and THANK YOU alumni@rvc.ac.uk
