The Royal Veterinary College's Contract Research Unit carries out target animal safety studies in a variety of farm animal and companion animal species. 

All target animal safety studies are conducted within our GLP compliant facilities to satisfy the requirements of relevant international guidelines and support the development of safe, new veterinary products. Our services include:

• Safety and tolerance testing of pharmaceuticals, biologicals and feed additive
• Local and systemic tolerance testing following single, repeat and overdose administrations
• Assessment of effects on reproductive performance
• Full necropsy by qualified veterinary pathologists
• Histology conducted by experienced commercial partners
• Histopathology services from slide receipt to report
• Full study management and integrated study reporting
• Potency and safety testing for batch release using appropriate validated models
