New to the SU: the RVC Music Society
For the first time last year, the RVC set up a society dedicated solely to making music! RVC Music Society started off as just
four students getting together every week to play instruments, but has now expanded to house three sub groups – the Orchestra, Songsmiths and a Choir!
The aim of the society is to be able to bring music to the RVC both through staff and students being able to
join us and create music together, and by integrating more and more music into everyday life at the RVC. Last year, we were fortunate enough to be able to perform at open days, open mic nights, the annual RVC carol services and even hosted our first Summer Festival! Our future goals are to expand our horizons and be able to not only bring music to the RVC, but also to
the wider local community, and we also hope that by expanding our
society further, we will be able to support even more musical groups under us so that no matter what genre, instrument or ability, anyone at the RVC can always find a place to nurture their musical talent!
