“Upon completing my degree, I began my professional
journey as a medical secretary. During this time, I had
the privilege of shadowing the Physician Associate team.
Inspired by this exposure, I made the decision to enrol
in a highly regarded programme at Swansea University.
After two years of rigorous coursework and hands-on
placements spanning specialties from obstetrics and
gynaecology to infectious diseases, I proudly graduated
in 2023. Shortly thereafter, I completed the national
examinations, qualifying as a Physician Associate, and I
am looking forward to commencing my career in the NHS.
I owe a debt of gratitude to the RVC for providing
me with a robust foundation. The confidence, skills,
and knowledge imparted during my time there not
only equipped me for life beyond academia but also
contributed significantly to shaping the person I am today.
The exposure to industry expertise from day one enabled
me to explore diverse areas of science, from start-up
ventures to my current role in the NHS.”

“The lecturers and nursing teaching staff made the course
feel enjoyable, making you feel involved and supported
along the entire way. My time at the RVC allowed me to
make friends for life. Since graduating, I’ve been working
in a small animal, first-opinion hospital as an RVN, I’m now
also a clinical coach! I enjoy the versatility the job brings;
a veterinary nurse is so many things and the skills you get
to utilise really helps you to be proud of what you’re doing.
The RVC has helped prepare me for the range of
experiences you’ll face in the field and the content you
learn does its best to prepare you for the veterinary world.
Even after graduating, the RVC encourages you to further
develop, I’ve recently been able to publish my research!”
