About your offer
How to accept your offer
If you decide that the RVC is for you, we would be delighted to welcome you into our world-renowned community.
Accepting your offer through VMCAS
You have until Tuesday 15 April 2026 to decide whether you want to accept your offer. To accept or decline, your offer, you will need to log into your RVC myApplications portal and select the ‘respond to offer’ option. You do not need to pay your deposit to accept your offer.
Accepting your offer through UCAS
You do not need to respond to any of your offers until you have received a final response from every university you applied to. Once you have UCAS will confirm that you can now make your decisions and you will have to do this by 3rd June 2026. You should follow the instructions UCAS provide - you will need log into UCAS Track. If you do not respond by the deadline UCAS has given you, they will automatically decline all of your offers on your behalf.

To formally accept, you'll need to log on to your UCAS portal and accept the offer as either your firm or insurance choice.
Ensure you do this by the deadline enforced by UCAS - this deadline will be determined by the date you receive your final offer; this year the deadlines are:
If you receive your last decision on or before your reply date is
OR
If you receive your last decision on or before your reply date is
For more information, please visit the UCAS website.
If you would like to have the RVC as your first choice for university, you should state it as your firm choice.
If you would like your RVC to be your second choice, you should select it as your insurance choice on UCAS.
Please note that you cannot chose between your firm and insurance choice on results day – if your grades meet the grade requirements for your firm choice your place at that university will be confirmed. You will only gain a place at your insurance university if your grades don’t meet the requirements of your firm choice, but still meet the grade requirements of the insurance.
Complete a criminal conviction declaration
All offer holders will be required to meet this condition. We do not require a full DBS check however all veterinary medicine students are required to complete the criminal conviction declaration. All offer holders will be able to access this declaration in the myApplications portal.
Provide a copy of your passport
All students must provide a copy of their passport. In most cases we will already have this but if we don’t we will ask for a copy in your offer.
Pass your qualification with a grade of X
If you are still studying, your offer letter will confirm exactly which qualifications and grades you need to achieve in order to be accepted onto the course. To evidence this you should send us the qualification results as soon as you receive them or arrange for them to be sent to us when results are released. If you are taking Scottish Highers, A-Levels or BTECs we will be sent these results in time for results day but for all other qualifications, please ensure they are sent to us as soon as possible.
Pass your degree with the result of X
Based on your application and transcripts, you need to pass your degree, completing the modules/courses listed on your application and achieving the overall grade indicated. Some times we may also specify particular modules or credits you need to pass and a required grade for these. If anything you are studying changes from what was listed on your application/in any information you have provided, then please let us know immediately. To evidence this you should send us your final transcripts that show the degree as being awarded or arrange for them to sent to us when results are released.
Complete an under 18 form
If you will be under 18 when the course starts then we will need your parents to complete a form to confirm they are happy for you to attend. In this case we will send the form to you, usually in the late-Spring, and ask you to return it to us as soon as possible.
Pay your deposit
All international applicants are required to pay a deposit as a condition of offer. You do not need to pay your deposit to accept your place at the RVC but you will need to pay it to confirm your place, once all other conditions are met. Information on how to pay your deposit will be sent to you once you have firmly accepted your offer. We will not issue a CAS for your visa application until your deposit is received.
What if I don't get the grades I need?
If you are taking A levels or an Extended Diploma, UCAS will send us your results before Results Day. This means we will be able to make a final decision in time for when you receive your results. Please note that this decision is final and will not be reviewed unless there is a change in the information we have received. If you are taking other qualifications and do not meet the conditions of your offer, please still send us your results. We may still be able to consider you, but we will not be able to confirm whether we can accept you until A level and BTEC Results Day in mid-August. If you are completing a degree and do not meet the conditions of your offer, there is usually less flexibility. Please contact us as soon as you receive your results so that we can discuss your situation.
Deferred Entry
If you decide you would like to push back your studies by a year (known as deferring), you may email the admission department requesting a deferred entry: admissions@rvc.ac.uk.
However, this does not guarantee your deferral will be permitted, and the Admissions team will consider requests on a case-by-case basis. We recommend requests are made as early as possible and by 30th June at the latest.
Useful Information
Ensure you carefully check what documents the RVC requires and meet the deadline; otherwise, we may no longer be able to offer you a place.
