Making an application through UCAS
Follow our 5 easy steps to make an application through UCAS
1. Completing your application
When applications are open, you can begin the application process through www.ucas.com. Proceed through the application pages using the UCAS codes found on our course pages, and our institution code R84. When applying for an undergraduate course, you will be asked to provide a personal statement to support your application. This is your chance to share why you want to study your course, your career ambitions, and what skills and experience you have acquired.
2. Complete your supplementary form
To enable us to assess applications to our veterinary degrees, we need to collect some more information from you. To do this we ask you to complete a supplementary application form.
If you are applying to our Accelerated Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine with an Intercalated year or Veterinary Science, you will need to complete and return our supplementary form by 16 October. This can be found at rvc.uk.com/form
If you are applying to our Gateway course, you will need to complete and return our supplementary form by 7th February.
If you are applying to our Veterinary Nursing courses, the supplementary form will be emailed to you once we have received your application.
If you are applying for a biosciences course, you do not need to complete this form.
3. Track your application
Once you have submitted your application, we will take some time to review it before responding. During this period, you can monitor the status of your application through UCAS Track.
4. Interviews and offers
If you are applying for a veterinary medicine or veterinary nursing course, you may be invited to attend an interview. Our interviews are conducted in the MMI format, which involves different stations as well as a group exercise. Interviews are not required when applying for a biological sciences course. If you are successful in your application (and interview, if applicable), you will receive an offer from us by email.
5. Respond to your offer
If you have been offered a place at the RVC and would like to study here, you can accept your offer via UCAS Track. If you have decided to study elsewhere, or that you no longer want to study the course you have applied for, you can decline our offer.
