- Standard bodyweights are an essential component of calculations that summarise many population-level measures in companion animals. Data were obtained from the VetCompass database and included bodyweight measurements from approximately three million dogs, two million cats, 220,000 rabbits and 62,000 guinea pigs across 1,800 veterinary practices in the United Kingdom.
- Novel methods to aid identification of dogs with spontaneous Cushing's syndrome are warranted to optimize case selection for diagnostics, avoid unnecessary testing, and ultimately aid decision-making for veterinarians. Three hundred and ninety-eight dogs diagnosed with Cushing's syndrome and 541 non-case dogs, tested for but not diagnosed with Cushing's syndrome, from a cohort of 905 544 dogs attending VetCompass participating practices.
