Four members of The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) academic staff have been made Fellows of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the body which regulates the veterinary profession in the UK.

RCVS Fellowships are awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to the veterinary profession. It represents the highest status of membership of the body.

To become a Fellow, individuals must have made meritorious contributions to the profession. These may be meritorious contributions to knowledge, to clinical practice or to the profession generally.

Dr Richard Meeson said “I am honoured to be recognised by the RCVS in this way, and look forward to contributing to the profession through the fellowship.”

Prof Mark Fox said “I am truly delighted to have been elected to Fellowship and look forward to working more closely with the Royal College in future.”

Dr Nicola Menzies-Gow said "I am thrilled to be awarded this Fellowship in recognition of my contribution to knowledge through 20 years research in the field of equine laminitis and am excited at the prospect of working with the Royal College in future."

The four RVC recipients were among 57 new fellows awarded at a virtual Fellowship evening on 1st October 2020. The event was streamed live and a recording is available on the RCVS website – Fellowship Evening 2020.
