Pandemics: past, present and future - RVC Principal Professor Stuart Reid joins the panel for upcoming One Health Poultry Hub event
The One Health Poultry Hub has recently launched a major, participatory online initiative. The Roadmap Series: Discussions for the Future of Poultry, People and Planet will identify and tackle key issues underpinning sustainable development from the perspective of one of the world’s most important contributors to food security – the poultry industry.
In the third discussion as part of this series, two panelists will discuss how and why pandemics have shaped history, what the legacy of COVID-19 will be and how risk mitigation can prevent future upheavals in a live online event on Wednesday 11th November from 9am - 10am.
The panelists are:
- Professor Stuart Reid, Principal, Royal Veterinary College, UK; and
- Ms. Heather Quinlan, author of Plagues, pandemics and viruses, USA.
The session will be moderated by Professor Fiona Tomley, Director of the UKRI GCRF One Health Poultry Hub, UK.
The discussion will be hosted on Zoom and you will receive the link after registering. A Q&A discussion will be included in the webinar.
