RVC hits the heights for student satisfaction!
The Royal Veterinary College has recorded some of its highest ever rates of student satisfaction for the quality of its courses and the standards of teaching in the latest National Student Survey (NSS) 2016.
The RVC has maintained its high position in the overall rankings and no other institution offering veterinary medicine programmes was ranked higher.
The annual survey, which addresses student satisfaction across a range of areas, was responded to by more than 300,000 students. The RVC response rate was particularly strong with 92% of our students participating in the survey.
Overall 91% of RVC students declared themselves satisfied with their course but satisfaction rates for many of courses went even higher. The RVC's BSc Veterinary Nursing achieved an outstanding result with 100% satisfaction and our Biological Sciences suite of courses which includes Bioveterinary Sciences hit similar heights with an overall satisfaction rate of 95%.
The standard of teaching and the quality of course content has been particularly singled out in the results. The RVC ranked 4th in the UK for satisfaction with the quality of teaching on its courses and 97% of the RVC students agreed that their course is intellectually stimulating.
David Church, Vice-Principal (Learning and Student Experience) at the RVC, said: 'We are very pleased with the Royal Veterinary College's performance in the latest National Student Satisfaction survey. To be rated in the top 11 universities in the country is extremely satisfying and shows how much our students value the educational experience they receive here at the RVC.
'Perhaps even more pleasing though is we are now the highest ranked university in the UK offering a suite of veterinary, biological and veterinary nursing degrees. There are numerous factors that have helped us achieve this honour, but it is clear that one of the most important is our talented and dedicated staff who are totally committed to ensuring each and every one of our students receives the training and support they need to optimise their learning experience.'
